About Taniel

Taniel was more than a statistic in the overdose crisis – he was a son, a brother, a father, a best friend, and a person who loved deeply. Despite battling addiction, Taniel was known for his bright spirit, his kindness, and his ability to make others feel seen and valued. His journey with addiction was filled with ups and downs, a reflection of the struggle so many face in trying to find recovery. Sadly, Taniel’s life was cut short due to a drug overdose, a tragic end to a long fight that left a hole in the hearts of those who knew him.

Mission Statement

Taniel’s Trek was created in memory of Taniel, a kind and vibrant soul who tragically lost his battle with addiction in 2022. His story is one of courage and struggle, as he sought recovery but was ultimately taken too soon by the overwhelming grip of addiction. Taniel’s life, though cut short, has inspired us to take action and raise awareness about the dangers of overdose.
The purpose of Taniel’s Trek is to honor his legacy by educating others, supporting those affected by addiction, and preventing future tragedies. Through this walk, we aim to shine a light on the overdose epidemic, reduce the stigma surrounding addiction, and provide resources for those seeking help. Together, we walk in Taniel’s memory, and for all those we’ve lost, as we journey towards a future free from overdose.
